The brakes have to be the best working items on a car...they have to work each and every time without fail. Stopping 4000 lbs of rolling steel is a very important part of cruising and looking cool.
At the very least, buy a repair manual and read up on the job before pulling the wheels off. If you can get someone to show you the first time, the better.
Don't mess around with this.
