well, first off it should have blown the fuse before it got wires hot, check to make sure the proper amp fuse is in. That aside it sounds like the the seat motor is bad. Your problem is confined to the seat, how would I know this? Because it did not give a problem until you plugged the seat in. I would try to keep the factory seat, finding one in a junkyard is going to be a poor proposition. It will have set for a while, creatures build nests, moisture gets to electrical parts, you get the picture.But it is up to you.
