I have a '02 4.7 and went thru the exact same problem and almost the exact same mileage. Fortunately I have the extended warranty, because I took it to the dealer and they had no clue what it was. First (2) times I took it they could not duplicate the problem. The third time I had to drive it around for a 1/2 hour with the mechanic to get the problem to appear. First they thought it was:
-valve body and governor actuator in the tranny--wrong
-then I changed the output speed sensor on the tranny myself--wrong
-then after I was able to duplicate the problem for the dealer they believed it was the fan clutch--wrong
-then the dealer thought the radiator was clogged--wrong
-then they discovered the radiator fan was not running at the right speed so they changed that--RIGHT!!!!, well kind of.....
Now the problem appears briefly when its cold out of the garage or after I get out of work. So I don't know what to tell you.
