Re: Transmission feels like its in neutral while driving

first, the slipping, how many miles do you have on the transmission? If it's more than 150,000 sad to say, it's on its last leg getting ready to go. If it less than that, you're ok. Along that line, when was the last time you had the transmission serviced? When it was serviced, do you know if they put Mopar ATF +4, the recommended transmission fluid for all Chrysler vehicles? That's something to investigate.

The high idle and the roughness you experience with your engine, that sounds like your have a vacuum leak. Which engine do you have? If you have the 3.5 V6, they have a very common problem of the intake manifold gaskets slipping around the #5 cylinder. Next time you have it started up, open the hood and put your ear to the engine and try hear for any hissing sounds, that indicates that you have a leak in your intake manifold.
