My father, uncle, and myself just spent 3 days swapping a 3.1 with 100,000 into a car that had 270,000. Starts and sounds smooth but my father and I are having 2 problems. The first is that the chilton book refers to the manual for the "proper" way to bleed the coolant. It must be referring to a later model manual becasue i've read the 1990 manual cover to cover with no luck. I was wondering if anyone knew the "proper" way to bleed the system. Also the starter is staying engaged even after the ignition is turned off and the key removed. We pulled the starter again and took it apart with no apparent problems. Our next guess is the ignition swtich but if anyone has any other theories they would be greatly appreciated. Can't wait to get this baby on the road!
