It's easier if the car was up on a lift. It's kinda hard to get to all the bolts, so make sure you have many long rachet extensions and ones that twist all around. I was just working on mine yesterday to try to fix the belt. I dont think you have to take out anything to take out the alternator. You might actually be able to take it out through the top. Just take out all the cruise control stuff on the passenger side. The one box is bolted on the firewall, while another is bolted on the frame. Good luck. I would suggest taking it in to a shop and watchin how they do it.
