There is no "Calibration" for the temperature, as far as I know. I just finished installing a new (different) console & sensor in my 2001 Venture and there is no calibration to be done.

What I suspect is a dirty or loose connection. This is because as the temperature goes up, the resistance value of the sensor (a "thermistor" actually) goes down. And the opposite is true (as temperature goes down, resistance goes up). So if you were to have a dirty connector, there would be LESS contact area and therefore higher resistance value.

I would suggest finding the connector(s) and checking them for dirt and/or anything else that might be causing the problem.

If you want to see where the connectors were/are for my van, go to the link below. They may not match exactly, but it will give you a good place to start.
