Yes you should replace the stock struts.
Lowering springs are generally better than coilover sleeves, which the market is flooded with generics. True coilovers (strut/springs) are the best way to go, but not really needed for street use.
As always I will suggest H&R springs with the best struts you can afford, adjustable pref.
