turning over, no start intermident

Basically the car turns over, so its not a battery or alternator or starter. Its getting spark to the distributor. Air is coming into the engine. It an automatic transmission and does this always when on a slight hill. Car has a half tank of fuel. So what I did was throw the car into neutral, rolled down the hill and while rolling down the hill tried starting and it worked. My conclusion is that it's a sensor on the transmission for the release from park to reverse. When weight is on the transmission it does this. its also a little hard to move from park to reverse, a little but not to difficult. Any thoughts?

thanks
