Buy your parts from Ford. The hose is attached to the metal with a hydraulic crimp. Don't cut the hose off the metal and clamp a piece of heater hose on it. Buy the hose assy from ford - under 30 bucks - and the intake gaskets are reasonable from Ford too. Wtih as much of a pain as this job is, do it right.
