I've found that purolator pureone's are best for reducing my 95.5 Rodeo's tick problem. I've used them exclusively for the last 5 or 6 oil changes. Frams were one of the worst. Even the very expensive $11 mobil filter caused unbelievable ticking (I may have had a bad one, but too expensive to try again).
The purolator premium plus filters are very good filters. If you've been at bitog you've probably already seen the oil filter study. I believe this filter uses a nitrile adbv which isn't quite as good as a silicon adbv found in the pureone (and other filters like the wix). I've also used the napa gold (wix) filter and it performed like the pureone as far as ticking is concerned. I go with the pureones cuz they're available at pepboys which is more convenient then napa for me. But, I wouldn't hesitate to use either the pureone or wix(napa gold).
