Basicly what Cuda said is that there is no way to tell when your engine is going to mess up since every car is driven drifferently. Say you have 2 Camaros, same color, both SS. Now one is driven by a teenager who just got his liscense (CamaroA) and an old man who's in his 60s (CamaroB) Obviously the kid who just got his liscense is going to step on the gas, giving it all and even worse not knowing the side effects of driving the car when it just turned on a.k.a. cold engine wear. The old man obviously will sit there and warm it up and drive with a light foot. If you look at both cars and they have the same mileage obviously CamaroA is bound to break more parts sooner than CamaroB.

Stereotyper! Whilst I don't have a Camaro yet I know all about how to take it easy..but unfortunately i will be stomping on it the odd time

As for gas milage I can't really help, but I see different numbers all over.
