Re: fuel filter replacment on RS

first take out the battery and then the plate that it sits on (both the plastic and metal one). unbolt the brake fluid resirvor and also the washer fluid tank. you should be able to wiggle out the washer fluid tank without removing the hoses to the brake fluid resirvor. there's also a plug for the washer fluid pump that needs to be unplugged and you'll need to disconnect the fluid hose from the splitter on the hood. (keep the end of the hose above the outlet on the tank or you'll lose all your washer fluid onto the floor while replacing the filter). you should now be able to see the fuel filter. i would suggest un-screwing both connecting lines before unbolting the filter bracket. but let me warn you, you might want to set aside a good hour or two if this is your first fuel filter on your car. it's a bitch.
