Re: belt replacement help!
I did my belts on my 00 taco (2.7 also) about 6 months ago. I removed the fan shroud and the skid plate underneath the truck and was then able to access everything I needed to fairly easily. I had never replaced belts before this. Like Flash said, simply shift the belts around the fan, rotating it as you need to. You should not have to remove the fan. Also I did not use any belt tension tools, and everything seems to be fine so far. Good luck!
