make sure the fluid is not coolant...the dirt is carbon which is normal. the muffler obviously has at least one hole in it which means it will need to be replaced or repaired. the hole will grow quite rapidly and get loud...real loud. as the replacement is expensive, i've had varing degrees of success with muffler bandages. it's a quick fix and wont last more than 6 months to a year, but it costs less than $10. if you have more time than money it's worth a shot.
