ummm I dont think you can remove the factory stereo on that year car...nothing will work due to the anti-theft system running through the stereo. you probably shouldn't have cut the wire harness off. from what I've heard, there's a special harness you get to move the stock stereo to the trunk, then hook your stereo in at the dash. Not sure if the harness thing is true or not, but pretty sure on the keeping the stock stereo hooked up thing.
