Wouldn't want to do that before trieing on scrap part, I don't have good expiriance with Dupli color clear coat, it destroyed few of my paint works (never used it with Tamiya but all others were Acrylic automotive paints). And if the decals are thin (Italeri, S27 etc.) it will certanly destroy them.
For me only dupli color on dupli color.
