Did you ever adjust your TPS sensor? It doesn't just bolt in; the screw holes are actually slots so there is a little bit of adjustment. To adjust it, simply hook a good voltmeter up to it: the positive terminal goes to the middle wire (I think it is red) and the negative goes to a ground somewhere. Just adjust it until it reads 0.5 volts at warm idle. I've acually heard a couple of different voltages to try, but 0.5 seems to work for me.

The symptoms you write about definately indicate the TPS is out of wack.
