Back to the original question. No, don't do it. It will take you major time and cost more than the finished project will be worth. The donar car has a t56 transmission. There is all kinds of info on the www.corvetteforum.com regarding trying to put one of these in a c4 Vette. You might be able to get the LT1 in but you're going to have a problem with that tranny I think. If you took the $5000 or so it'll cost you in your time and parts, put that down as a down payment on a '97 or '98 C5 Vette that you can now get for about $20,000. You will have a way better car and less headaches. And sell the '84 for whatever you can to use as your downpayment.
