those cars were fast but now everything today is all about aerodynamics. Those old Monte Carlos and Thunderbirds were not as aerodynamic as they are today. Speeds at tracks have also gone up. I wouldn't be surprised to see one day, restrictor plates going on tracks like Atlanta, Charlotte, and possibly Michigan and California. It used to be, go as fast as you can go, now it's let's keep things safe so we'll slow them down. (Real smart guys!)
