You arn't suppose to remove the needles. As GS said, you are supposed to slide the gauges OVER the needles. You'll may need to get a new cluster, so you might want to check out
www.car-part.com and also call the local junkyards.
You can call a speedometer shop first if you want to. They would be able to tell you for sure whether your cluster can be fixed or f you broke it beyond repair. If you have to get a new speedo, keep the broken one and take BOTH to a speedometer shop They can match the milegae on the new cluster to the old one for you, but they'll need BOTH the old and new clusters to verify the mileage before they do it.
