spray paint removal

I have found that lacquer thinner is very effective in removing spray paint from cured paints like on your Neon. You can buy it at any hardware store. I hope you had no problem with the polish remover because that can eat through a clear coat.
After removal, use a grease, wax & tar remover to get back to completely clean. I recommend Prep Sol, sold in auto body shop supply places or your local parts store. Follow up with a good carnauba wax to seal things in.
If you went through the clear coat, lightly sand with 1000 grit sandpaper and spray the area with clear coat again. If you have any questions, I can continue in a later conversation.
Best of luck!
