Hey guys! You've been great
help in the past, now I need your expertise one more time! (well, at least one more.)
I had my radiator replaced recently and since then, my car would slowly overheat if I was stuck in traffic. It would cool down, however, if I was moving. I realized pretty quickly that my radiator cooling fan wasn't kicking on to cool my engine.
I removed the fan and tested the connectors directly to the battery and it worked fine. Now I just want to make sure the sensor or switch is working to turn it on. Unfortunately, I'm not sure where the sensor is and the best way to test it.
There are 2 little plugs in the side of the engine, shown within the white square in this picture. Note that I've blown the image up a bit in the bottom-right so you could see the plugs/switches.
What those two plugs? I think the bottom one is the temperature gauge, because if I test that to the battery my temp gauge goes haywire in the car. I'm not sure what the plug above it does, is that the gauge for the radiator fan?
What are these two plugs?
Thanks for the help. Summer is coming and it would help to have this fan working. New York traffic sucks.
