You could make it fit, but why? Such a combination would be barely any faster than a 2.8 V6 in an S10.
You would need to use the 231 transmission, since the bell housing bolt pattern on all S-10s is different. Likely you would need to make a custom driveshaft and you would need to fabricate engine mounts and an exhaust system.
It's a lot of work for not much power.
A stock 4.3 L S10 would be MUCH faster.
If you are going to all the time and effort to swap an engine into an S10, use a Chevy 350. There are kits available for those.
