I have looked at some wiring diagrams to see if there was a 'common' area where you could have a short between the cooling fans and the fuel pump wiring. Both get their power through the same fusible link from the starter relay which is controlled by the ignition switch. The ignition switch could be bad between the 'off' and 'run position'.
