IMRC Repair
I had just purchased a winnie at auction and had several problems with it. One of which was the front IMRC. Since I am kinda thrifty and decided that I might try to put my education as an engineer to work (since my career path has not forced me to do so) I was able to fix my IMRC. The first ting I did once I removed it is cut the rolled metal cap (for lack of better descriptive terms) in about 4 places equally spaced at approx 90 degree intervals. Then roll the new tabs out. That allowed me to get access to the diaphram. It was torn. I blue rtv the crap out of the edge of the diaphram all the way around the cap. The placed the cap back on the body and rerolled the tabs back down around the body. Put another bead of blue all the way around the cap and body assembly and once the rtv was cured worked good as new. One thing that must be noted before this is the position of the linkage arm with relation to the position of the assembly. I completley tore the diaphram during disassemble so had to realign. One thing in hindsight that i might had done is matchmark the cao to the body this would eliminate this problem as long as the diaphram is still somewhat intact. good luck.
