Funny, I was teaching my bud how to launch last night in his FD3S. We found that on street tires and with the power of his car, it's actually best to launch @ 5000 rpm, thats when the turbos are making the correct amount of power to propel the car forward, without a lot of wheel hop, and just the right amount of wheel spin. If he didn't shift fast enough into second though, the tail would step out. So, we're gonna work on it a little more. Plus all thats gonna change next week when he gets his new rims and tires. My Civic gets good launches @ about 3400. I use the total drop clutch method.
