Re: Slight Rust spot

Do you have access to a grinder? If so, you can grind down the spot and a little over the flaked spot. dont push hard. grind until you see shiny metal, which shouldnt take long. after that, take some 320 grit sandpaper to it with a sander on the bare metal spot. mask a squared off area about 5 inches around the spot. and mask off the edge of the door. take 500 grit sand paper to the paint and sand it untill it turns white and there are no orange peel effect happening. (youll notice there will be tiny dark spots in a orange peel texture, sand untill not orange peel is left.) when you get it all sanded, clean it off. put some newspapers up on the masked off areas, make sure you cover ever spot. if you miss tiny spots, use tape. Set some Dupont Primer and spray the area untill you cant see the metal any more. use side to side strokes. when the primer is dry. use colour matched paint and spray it over in the same fashion, but apply two coats.get clear top coat and do the same thing, applying two coats. take off your masking and presto, new car!
