I think you should have said, well, I came here to dance, so you go ahead and find another wallflower to chit chat with, while I go cut a rug. I agree taking her home was the right thing to do, but you should have let her sit there by herself if she wanted to be boring. It sounds like she didnt even make decent conversation. If I wasnt gonna dance, she would at least have to be making me laugh and smile with some good conversation. Not just sit there like a lump. Don't let people do that to you. Explain as honest as it gets, because you have good intentions, they should understand. And if they don't then fuck em.

I was Mr Nice guy in high school too, and I let a lot of people ruin my good times. I dont allow that anymore. I live my life, you live yours. If we have fun doing the same thing, GREAT. If not, then get over it.
