Are you sure its actually a mid-grade gas??
The higher grade of gas just helps reisit detonation or pre-ignition ('knock and ping')
Your car has a knock sensor that will retard the ignition timing a bit if it detects any knock or ping.
If it has to retard the timing, you might see a slight decrease in gas mileage. However, if there is no knock or ping, your mileage will be the same.
IMHO try the mid grade and keep a record of the fuel mileage so you can see if there is a change.
