Angry 1994 740i drive train rumble

Gentlemen,

My 740i has a cycling rumble that seems to be getting worse as time goes on. It is worst when the car is cold and is most pronounced at 1800 to 2600 RPMs. It is definitely coming from some component of the drive train. I have experienced this kind of thing in other rear wheel drive cars and it has been the U joints at either end of the drive shaft. Have you ever experienced this type of thing with the 740 previously and if so, what are your thoughts? Anything that this car is famous for as it approaches 100K miles? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks. Tony
