Re: transmission problems

Chevrolet P1870 Code

Chevrolet’s transmission slippage code is the 10th most common DTC. This code is ranked higher when the General Motors brands are combined. This is a significant code. Much of the public will have a hard time understanding why a slipping transmission would potentially lead to higher tailpipe emissions. Also, many of these vehicles may receive expensive new transmissions unnecessarily. There appears to be design problems with the automatic transmission TCC (torque converter clutch) control valve in the solenoid valve body. There is a TSB that describes common problems encountered with General Motors vehicles. Technicians and customers should feel free to contact the Missouri Department of Natural Resources if they have questions or concerns related to this or other transmission DTC’s and GCAP testing.

Random Misfire

Tell me this, why did you not replace the cap and rotor? Seems foolish to replace the plugs and not the equipment supplying the spark don't you think?
