What you are describing has been described before with either the TPS on the throttle body or the crank sensor going bad.
A very big guess but what others have complained about and their presenting symptoms when it was either of those is very similiar to what you are describing.
Could you have done that much damage that the engine is still engaged and it stalls when stopped? Like if you forgot to take a manual out of gear or have the clutch pedal in? Is that what it feels like, lugging so low it stalls due to being engaged with the transmission?
