idle, stalling problems 2000 cherokee
figured I'd get an outside opinion before looking into a mechanic. You guys have a lot of jeep knowledge so I thought you might have a suggestion. Here is whats going on. For a while now my 2000 jeep cherokee 4wd automatic would rev while in park or while I was at a stoplight in gear. Not much, just enough so I could feel it want to move forward a bit. Never really anthing major so I never checked it out. But now every once in a while while in gear at a stoplight, the jeep will stall. Starts right back up, and usually only does it a couple times a week. Heres the thing, I may have messed something up last month while switching into part time 4x4. I threw it into 4x4 but it must have not engaged properly, and it slipped out while driving in probably 1st or 2nd gear. SO.... thats when the stalling started. Seems related, but what could it be. Did I warp the chain on my transfer case? I'm not a mechanic by any means but I like to go as far as I can before seeking professional help. So basically any help you can give me regarding the irratic idling or the infrequent stalling issue would be a big help. thanks, aaron
