Re: power seats question?
A. Souphound,
the seat in question (front passanger side, in an 05 grand caravan) has power adjustability for the forward and backward movement, and for the seat back recline. there is no adjustability for up and down.
however, from looking at the drivers side seat, which is exactly the same, but also has power up and down, it looks like the passanger side seat has the needed bracketry to be able to move up and down.
lets see if I can explain this a little better.
on the drivers side, the motor that raises the seat is attatched to the seat frame in the middle, and has a threaded rod coming out of each end. when the motor is activated (to move the seat up or down) the motor spins those threaded rods, and they either push or pull a sleve that is attatched to a pivot that raises the seat. (well, it's not a great explination, but maybe you'll get the picture)
now, back to the passanger side.....
it has the same pivot points as the driver side, but instead of a motor and threaded rods, there are square bars that go from where the motor should be, to the pivot points that raise and lower the seat.
I'll look around and see if I can find any diagrams to explain it a little better.
