Yup, your're right about that. I've heard of that happennig to some people too, but I've never witnessed it personally. I knew a few guys who heated their springs and did a decent job, They were warped somewhat, but not too badly and neither of those 2 has broken one yet.
But again, you are correct and I should have mentioned the negative effects of heating your springs too.
Still, you have to agree, either method is just plain wrong. Lowering a vehicle to me is much more about performance that it is about looks and I feel anyone willing to heat or cut their springs just wants to look cool. How cool is it when you bottom out whenever you hit a bump though? CLUNK!
