Re: Camry oil change

If you've never changed fluids you might need to buy a couple things.
I use plastic Rhino Ramps from Wal Mart to elevate the car. You need a 10 mm allen to remove the trans fluid drain plug. At the auto parts store look under brake tools for that piece. GM uses a 10 mm allen on the brakes that will fit your transmission drain plug. Oil drain is 13 mm (I think) socket. Buy a small set of metric sockets (not expensive).

Oil drain is on the left side; trans fluid drain is on the right side of engine. Read owners manual for checking fluid levels.

I would use Castrol over Quaker State oil. Wix, Purlator, AC Delco, Fram Tough Guard all good filters. Toyota filters are my choice. The oil filter is a breeze to remove on Camry 4 cyl. You might need an oil filter wrench if filter is too tight from previous oil change. Hand tighten the new filter after putting clean oil on the gasket.
