Well, I'm an advocate against abs/traction control because I feel all this technology is breeding poor drivers, so no you don't "need" to fix it. I would have to say though if someone else drives your car and is expecting the abs/traction to be working it could be dangerous for them. The system isn't critical to the car operating smoothly so you should be fine until it's fixed.
