3) The complicating factor is that this vehicle has radio controls on the steering wheel. I like 'em far more than is probably healthy for the average human.
The question: if replacing this radio unit, can I just pick up any OEM CD/Cassette/radio unit that fits a '98 Century and expect it to work with said steering wheel controls, or do I have to hunt down a specific type of OEM radio?
(At the moment I'm not interested in aftermarket parts; I just want to be sure ACDelco plays nice before I spend money. My father, as a frequent passenger, wants me to put in something that does mp3 playback, but he's not the one who owns the car. )
Thanks!

usually on the back of the newer cd players there are wires within the massive wiring harness for it that should be for the remote radio controls which would be for your steering wheel buttons and stuff, but not 100% sure... you could call your favorite local electronics store or whereever you decide to buy a cd player from like best buy or whatever, and ask them if they have a cd player that plays mp3's and can connect to the steering wheel buttons. they should be able to help you out since they deal in installing that sort of stuff every day. hope this helps.
