There is no sensor on the fuel filter.
The glow plugs always go bad on tdi's usually between 50-80k miles.
The harness also goes bad causing glow plug circuit faults.
The glow plug relay also goes bad (least common).
ECM dont go bad on vw or VERY VERY rarely.
Injector pumps dont go bad unless you run gasoline in you diesel.
