Why go to carbureted? That's stupid... he'd lose power unless he went real big. And of course it'd fit, those Caprice engine bays are huge... a mild carbureted manifold with carb isn't going to be much taller than a 305 tbi manifold if at all. EFI is the way to make reliable horsepower with the best economy.
Listen, If you want 400hp out of a Chevy small block... that's easier than convincing Micheal Jackson to go to your little brothers Chucky E Cheeses birthday party. He'll go play in the balls all night.
Send these guys an email, they quoted me $3200-3400 for a LT1 with 6speed package. That includes ECU, uncut harness and all the fixings to make it go vroom. And it's a direct bolt in, wiring wouldn't bee too much of a hassel.
