Not really. If it has been taken care of the engine should start fine but there is a method of starting a older MB diesel in very cold weather. Glow for at least a minute or 75 seconds. Crank the engine and do not stop cranking until the engine starts. When it starts...keep cranking on the starter (do not stop turning the engine over) with your foot on the accelerator until your confident the engine will run on its own. When the diesel hits the cold cylinders it will kill a freshly started engine and you will not get it started anytime soon, thats why you keep on the starter until the cylinders get a little warm.
