I have a 03' dblcab 3.4L supercharged. Let me tell you it makes a big difference. I love the response I'm getting from my Tacoma. I had the s/c installed at about 9k miles.
I drive up a long, steep, incline to work everyday. Before the s/c, I noticed that when I would be cruising at about 50mph uphill, and I move to the left lane to overtake another vehicle, the acceleration after I changed lane was slow. Now with the s/c, acceleration after the lane change is a lot faster with no hesitation. But I also had a borla exhaust system installed before the s/c, so I'm sure that helps also.
One problem I had with the s/c is pinging but this was a long while after the s/c was installed. It happened while I was punching the gas hard up another incline. I had denso irridium plugs and a TRD thermostat installed and that took care of the problem. If a 7th injector is in your future, then hold up on the thermostat because it comes a TRD thermostat, but it might be a good idea to replace the plugs at the time of s/c installation. Some people get this problem and some don't.
I'm waiting for my TRD headers and 7th injector to come in. I'll let you know how my truck drives with those upgrades. I don't really need any more power, but I think these last upgrade are more for curiosity and the passion for performance! Good luck!
