I had a '94 and my niece has a '95. Both had your same symptom and the crankshaft position sensor eliminated the problem. It's located in a most vulnerable place, down below the exhaust manifold. If you get down under the engine on the drivers side under that exhaust manifold you will see it. I had a friend who had the same problem on his '94 and the CPS replacement fixed it so that's three for three. As far as I'm concerned, that's got to be your problem. Or it could just be the connection to it. You can solder the connection on to the old CPS and try it if you want to save the money, but I would just go ahead and replace it.
