Alaska roads vs. 2wd Ford van.

Not technically "off" road but Alaska is famous for washboard gravel and broken pavement. I need new shocks and tires anyway, so what are the best choices? I don't live in Alaska, just visiting for a few months. My van is a '94 Ford E150 Chateau Club Wagon, 5.8L, with the factory "handling package". On shocks I'm thinking of either the KYB Monomax or GasAdjusts. For tires, just a top grade truck tire of some sort. What are recommendations? Van handling is pretty specific area. They are like a shoebox on a roller skate.
Thanks,
