Stock shocks

There is a discrepancy between what appears to be stock shocks on my 2001 325i and what the mechanic says. Everytime I search, I find KYB shocks, but I supposedly I should have Boge shocks and he swears up and down KYB's don't come on BMW. He's recommending Bilsteins, which seems sweet, but expensive and probably unnecessary if I plan on selling my car in the next couple years.

I basically hit a pothole that trashed my suspension, and I have to replace 2 wheels, 4 tires, some suspension components, and all my shocks, even though only 1 is damaged. The others have 40K miles on them, so may as well do them all at once.

I'm replacing my 16" stock wheels with 17" SSR Comp's (semi-forged 15lbs a wheel -- light!), and Goodyear Eagle F1 tires. Figured that would be a nice clean upgrade, seeing most of the stuff needs to be replaced anyways. Insurance is paying for most of the mechanical and parts, except for upgrades and "undamaged-but-should-be-replaced-in-pairs" parts like tires and shocks.

So does anyone know what shocks come standard on a cookie cutter 2001 BMW 325i?

Thanks!
