The book says there's a tool that holds the adjuster arm up so you can remove the adjuster bolt & nut...J 36202 Torsion Bar Unloader. "Remove the adjusting bolt using the j 36202 tool, after removing the adjusting bolt and nut the tool is loosened then taken off the assembly and torsion bar moved forward and left in place.
Remove the adjustment arm, loosen and remove the nut and square washer from the rear torsion bar support, raise support up and out of the way, remove the bolts from the support insulator(rubber frame mount), muffler flange at the converter & loosen the rear exhaust hanger and lower the rear exhaust then you'll be able to remove the support from the frame and free the rear end of the torsion bar and pull it out of the lower control arm."
