this problem can occur if you any type of transmission fluid except the factory recomended fluid. i think for a '90 and later crysler recomends ATF+3. apparently some shops use dextron III and it does bad things. there is also the issue of "reprograming" the ECU, this sounds like voo doo but is likely true. do an internet search on the topic (ATF+3); it should yield interesting results and testimonies.
