I have never had a module go basd usually the wires on the lock cylinder break and cause the security light to flash. Measure the resistance on you key stick it in the ignition cylinder and measure the resistance where the pass key wires go into the harness connector under the dash they are orange in color. I can look up the location for the pass key module tomorrow if you like.
