You weren't that far from the truth actually. Anyway, I found that quote along with some information about the W8 from this site

Anyway, to me, the Vector W8 is nothing more but an American version of the Lamborghini. The looks, engine, and performance seem to match it all to well. If you read that site though, the company that owned Vector owned Lamborghini.
